After doing a little research I got a Launch Creader Elite 2.0. I am now learning about the crazy degrees of complexity in modern cars. And this car is over twenty years old. I think BMW is trying to make their cars idiot proof and in the process are making them too fragile. Instead of people learning how to drive, they now have electronic nannies to keep them on the straight and narrow. Rather than check the oil they have a sensor that displays a message on the dashboard. "Low Oil" You don't need to check your brakes anymore a sensor tells you when your brakes are getting worn out. And they all have a tendency to go bad.
I recall being on a 540i Forum and a member talked about how he carries his scanner in the glove box. I wondered why would we even want a car like this? I looked at it's style, felt the drive, listened to the engine and was reminded why we go through the troubles.
Cars have their own language now and this little box helps to translate it into something I comprehend. I learned that if I don't follow the steps, it won't work. I now have a little orange box to serve as my guide.
Perhaps in the future, augmented humans will plug into their car and communicate directly.
